Marco Island a beach resort destination in Southwest Florida with spectacular beaches.

Welcome to Marco Island

updated - March 30, 2012

Located just south of Naples, Marco Island is the gateway to the Ten Thousand Islands - the remote, almost uninhabited western region of the Everglades. It's the last outpost of creature comfort and luxury.

Taking cue from its posh neighbor to the north, Naples, Marco Island has transformed in its own right and offers several beachfront resort hotels that are highly recommended.

While the restaurant and shopping scene rides coach compared with first-class Naples, the difference between the two in beaches is hands down Marco Island all the way: indeed, a real smack down.

Marco Island has a phenomenal beach: long, really long, and very wide. Tiger Tail Beach, a section on the northern stretch is as good a beach as any from here to Clearwater.

Marco Island - idyllic

Along Crescent Beach - a miles long span of beach that faces the Gulf of Mexico is home to scores of hotels, resorts and vacation homes. The wide nature of the beach, however, pushes most of that far from the shore. Enjoy Jet Skiing, sailing, kayaks and the warm waters of Florida's Gulf of Mexico.
